Aveeno Baby Allergy Awareness Week in association with Mimi’s Bowl
IF you follow my posts, you’ll know I’m a huge fan of Aveeno Baby, it works fantastically on my son’s skin and I have no complaints!
Now the brand has teamed up with baby food expert Miriam Cooper, aka Mimi’s Bowl, to mark Allergy Awareness Week with two yummy recipes suitable for even the most sensitive of tiny tummies.
A perfect partnership, Aveeno Baby’s range of skincare products are specially designed using oats to be gentle on your little one’s skin – the latest Dermexa range has been created for eczema-prone skin.
While Miriam works to show how you can create healthy and simple meals for the family at home, especially when introducing your baby to solids for the first time during weaning.
Weaning is when you may start to notice your child’s skin becoming irritated due to allergens, so these two recipes from Mimi’s Bowl are allergen-free #winning.

Planning for the school holidays with 5 Minute Fun
I’m going to try and to be a bit more prepared for the next school holiday and think about things to do with the kids in advance, and not just leave it to the night before!
I’m lucky to have discovered 5 Minute Fun who come up with simple – and enjoyable! – ideas to keep little fingers busy and most importantly allowing you to grab five minutes to yourself.
It was great to see both my toddler and nine year working together to make a fabulous owl from the goody bag they kindly gifted us!
I’ve spoken before about how difficult it is to get them to enjoy the same activity, so this was a Godsend.
And the activity cards (only £1.99 atm!) could keep the whole family occupied for ages doing little fun tasks, in the house or outside, which don’t involve any extra cash being spent.
Check them out ahead of the forthcoming Easter holidays!

Review: VIPs get first look at Norm of the North
With a voice cast boasting the likes of Rob Schneider, Heather Graham, James Corden, Bill Nighy and Colm Meaney, it’s no surprise a crowd of VIPs and their children braved the cold to enjoy a Sunday morning screening of latest Lionsgate offering Norm of the North.
Singer Una Foden stepped out with her three year old mini me, daughter Aoife Belle – the pair clad in matching denim ensembles.
Other celebrities taking part in the ‘fun in the foyer’ activities included Cherry Healey, Justin Lee Collins and former X Factor contestants The Brooks, before TV presenter Kate Garraway introduced the film to a packed screening room at London’s Empire Leicester Square cinema.
In the film Schneider voices a dancing polar bear who can speak to humans, tasked with saving his Arctic home from property developers.
My six year old enjoyed the film but a big part of that was probably due to the soundtrack – which included Walk to the Moon’s catchy Shut Up and Dance – rather than any riveting storyline.
While the animated offering is not on a par with Disney’s Frozen which is of course loved by children and adults alike(!), I did find myself sniggering at some of the jokes. And judging from the reaction of children at the screening, they also seemed to find the film amusing.
Norm of the North hits UK cinemas on March 18.
Drawing on walls and furniture at the Cartoonito Club launch!
It sounds like every parent’s nightmare but to mark the launch of the Cartoonito Club, children were given the chance to – yes, you heard right – draw on the walls and furniture!
And it was in fact a dream come true for the children attending as they showed off their artistic skills colouring in characters from the channel such as Masha and the Bear, Daisy and Ollie, and Fireman Sam. I’m also proud to admit that I also got in on the action!
My daughter couldn’t get enough of it, while my newly-turned one-year-old boy put pen to paper (or wall) for the first time! I will of course have to explain this is not an activity to be repeated at home…
Famous faces and their offspring were also lining up to get involved and we spotted the likes of Billie Faiers, Tamara Ecclestone, Russell Kane, Vanessa Feltz and Shappi Khorsandi showing off their skills with their little ones.
Dubbed the world’s first living colouring book, the event in London’s Soho marked the launch of the TV channel’s online creativity hub, where fans of the above mentioned shows (as well as many, many more including classics such as Thomas and Friends, and Bob the Builder!) can download colouring in sheets and activities to keep them occupied.
And to be honest, with the long school summer holiday fast approaching this has got to be a gift from heaven, right?
Check out the video below about the day (and look out for my cameo!).
