WHAT’S better than fruit flakes which make your kids happily have one of their five a day? Unicorn Fruit Flakes of course!
Children’s snack company Fruit Bowl helped put a smile on our faces as we attended the launch of their latest offering – and there was a real life unicorn there to greet us too.. well, kind of…
Obviously jumping on the unicorn bandwagon, but if it helps with your child’s daily fruit intake, I’m all for it.
The flakes are made from raspberry, strawberry and blackcurrant – and most importantly a packet contains the same amount of sugar found in one apple.
Currently available to purchase individually or in a multipack of five (£2 rrp) from Morrisons and Waitrose.
Is social media good for the soul? I recently posted these musings on Instagram to mark World Mental Health Day and thought I’d also share here.
I definitely go through phases when I struggle to scroll through squares of smiling faces on Instagram, visions of trim bodies and people who – it appears – totally have their s**t together.
Sometimes I don’t want to post because I don’t want to be judged on the image I’ve chosen.
As I get older I am more and more comfortable in my own skin but there’s always something that can make me stumble and my confidence falters. Is my business doing well enough? Am I doing enough for my kids? Am I where I want to be in my career?
Talking about it helps. Family, friends, playgroup mamas, school run parents, church family…😊 So here’s a throwback picture of me on the beach this summer, no make up, and natural hair, that I never posted at the time because I didn’t think the angle was quite right 🙈
ANYONE having to deal with World Book Day prep right now? I’m literally printing off (fake) money as I write this for my daughter’s outfit tomorrow..!
Well, to celebrate World Book Day on March 7, Uber has joined forces with Puffin and the National Literacy Trust to launch a free mobile book service.
The idea is aimed at parents rushing home to read their child a bedtime story after new research has shown ‘that 43% of British parents admit that working schedules prevent them from reading a bedtime story with their children’.
The mobile libraries, curated by Puffin and the National Literacy Trust, will see a range of books available in select cars for parents to take home.
They include Charlotte’s Web, Mrs Pepperpot, Goodnight Peter Rabbit, Little Leaders and Wonder.
It’s being trialled in London and Manchester, with 1,000 books available until they run out.
Anything to get parents and children reading together sounds great to me, so it’s definitely a thumbs up from The Media Mummy.
Tom Elvidge, Uber’s UK General Manager said: “We know modern life is busy and getting home for bedtime can be a challenge for many parents. To mark World Book Day, we want to make life just a little bit less stressful and make it easier for families to enjoy some special time together.”
While Jonathan Douglas, Director of the National Literacy Trust, added: “By encouraging a love of reading at home, parents can help their child develop the language and literacy skills they need to flourish at school and in all areas of their life.
“Amid increasingly busy family lives, research shows that finding just 10 minutes a day to read with your child can make all the difference – whether that’s sharing a story at bedtime, over breakfast or even on the school run.
“We are delighted to support Uber’s campaign; we hope it will succeed in bringing families together and stories to life.”
KIDS’ favourite Fireman Sam and the Child Accident Prevention Trust (CAPT) have launched a timely new partnership to help teach youngsters about staying safe during Bonfire Night celebrations.
The Fireman Sam Safety Hero School has launched aimed at getting across key safety messages to pre-schoolers and their families.
Areas include fire safety, water safety, safety in the home, road safety and animal safety.
Children and parents can find a dedicated online platform at www.firemansam.com, where they can download a wealth of information in child-friendly language, including fire safety activity sheets, as well as the chance to watch fire safety videos from the Pontypandy firefighting crew.
The overall aim is to complete all the safety modules, gaining certificates and badges along the way to finally become a Fireman Sam Ultimate Safety Hero.
Such an important topic, so it’s great to see something which makes it simple – and fun! – for little ones.
THIS week me and the boy have been testing out the Aveeno Baby Dermexa range, in particular the Good Night Emollient Balm and the Daily Emollient Cream.
And I’m not going to lie, the good night balm has been an absolute lifesaver for my little boy as the cold winter nights start to creep in, causing his skin to get drier than usual.
I’ve found the slightly thicker night balm perfect for helping to ease his itchy skin as he sleeps.
I’ve always been a fan of Aveeno for my little one’s skin, and talking to lots of other parents they too are full of praise for the brand – I mean it’s just one less thing to worry about right?
Parenting is hard enough, so it’s something to tick off the list and, the good news is there’s 1/3 off at Boots until November 6. #winning
